WIG October Update

Pug’s Getaway was Fun for All!

WIGs and their guests revelled in great weather, two rounds of fun golf on the scenic Hockley Valley course, and lots of shared camaraderie over drinks, prizes, dinner and laughs. The more intimate group made getting re-acquainted easy and certainly ensured that everyone knew each other by the time the two days wrapped up. A hearty round of thanks to Rosemary Salvatore (Past President) for her organization of the event over the past several months.

International Championship Results

Honorary WIG, Judith Kyrinis, continued her impressive showings in the 2024 season at the recent US Women’s Senior Women’s Amateur. The event was contested at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle. When the first-round stroke play results were tallied, Judith was tied for 4th. The low 64 scores went into sudden-death match play.  Arriving at the round of 32, Judith was bested 1-up. On the bag for the event was friend and fellow WIG, Ellen Wallace. Earlier in the year, Judith placed 4th in the Irish Senior Women’s Championship and tied for 6th in the R&A Senior Women’s Amateur Championship. Quite the stellar year for ‘our Judith’.

The WIG Season Concludes

Thank you to all the folks who made the 2024 season happen. That starts with the Executive…in alpha order – Ellen, Jill, Julie, Kelly, Marie, Marnie, and Rosemary –  plus Lisa Young and Deb Court who continued to support our technical requirements.

Most of all, thank you to our WIGs who showed up, played golf, and made our lives richer. Stay tuned. It’s not the last you’ve heard from us this season.
